Before Oral Roberts University basketball games, he swaps the coat and tie for blue jeans and a bass.
It’s time to rock.
Johnson, 55, said he has run ORU’s pep band for 20 years. He has a legit motive for continuing.
“Because it’s a blast,” he said, smiling.
Johnson said the “creative man” inside him has to get out. Performing in the pep band provides the escape route. He is far from the only blast from the past in the group.
